New Generation Cree LED XHP HD & HI 3V Versions

The Cree LED XLamp® XHP white LED series has expanded to include 3V voltage options and a CCT range of 5000K–7000K, achieving optimal luminous efficacy. XHP LEDs provide industry-leading lumen density, efficacy, and optical quality for portable lighting applications.

Furthermore, like other high-power products, the new-generation XHP35.2 LED allows for configuration as either a 3V or 6V package based on the PCB pad layout. A single LED can be configured with two different drive options to produce distinct beam effects, all while maintaining high efficiency and low cost.

Fresnel Lens Spot-Focusing Reference Design

This reference design demonstrates the exceptional optical performance of the XLamp XHP70.3 HI series in high-lumen portable applications. When paired with the LEDiL SEANNA-A Fresnel lens, it achieves a beam range of 1,600 meters and a peak beam intensity of 516,000 cd.

These results are primarily attributed to product innovations in the Cree LED XHP series: an upgraded HI version, increased maximum current ratings, and enhanced center beam intensity.

Convoy M3-C Flashlight Reference Design

Test results are as follows:

• More uniform color distribution;
• Beam range increased by 52%;
• Intensity per lumen increased by 72%, with a narrower beam angle;
• Peak beam intensity increased by 70% at the same drive current;
• Peak beam intensity increased by 134% at the respective maximum drive currents.

Regarding the improvement in the Convoy M3-C flashlight’s lighting performance, the reference design demonstrates an upgrade of the LED component from the Cree LED XHP70.2 to the XHP70.3 HI version.
