Everlight Electronics Inc. launched several infrared products in the third quarter for automotive intelligent automation applications. The VS-FI3535 series is used to recognize the driver’s facial state, while the ALS-DPDIC17 series can sense target distance and automatically adjust the brightness of the rearview mirrordashboard. The IR12-21CTR8-AM, when paired with the PD12-21CTR8-AM, enables more precise and sensitive finger-based operation under the screen.

With the continuous evolution of global information technology, the development trend is towards intelligent automation innovation. The driver’s mental state is crucial while driving. Everlight’s new VS-FI3535 series can recognize the driver’s eye movements and facial expressions, easily identifying states such as focused attention, drowsiness, or distraction. The VS-FI3535 series (2.8W, 3.5×3.5×1.6mm) has a 110° x 85° beam angle, a wavelength of 940 nm, and a wavelength affected by temperature by approximately 0.07nmK. It operates within a temperature range of -40°C to +125°C, features a fast TrTf response time, and effectively improves focusing ability and efficiency. Furthermore, it has passed the international automotive AECQ-102 certification. Unlike the target detection divergence and efficiency problems commonly found in general LED and EEL components, the Everlight VS-FI3535 series combines quality and safety, making it the preferred product for driver facial recognition applications.

The ALS-DPDIC17 series is an ambient light sensor component, measuring 2.0×2.0x0.63mm, with a resolution of 16 bits, an operating current of 160mA, and a sensing distance range of 0.0033-83,000lx. It can automatically adjust the brightness of the rearview mirror according to the distance and can also be used for dashboard display dimming. The IR12-21CTR8-AM, when paired with the PD12-21CTR8-AM, is used to sense whether the signal is obstructed. Even when the operator is wearing gloves and selecting the car screen, the signal can still be easily read without interference. The signal transmission and sensing on the screen is fast and accurate, greatly improving convenience.
