Lumileds announces the LUXEON HL4Z non-dome power LED, suitable for applications requiring extremely high luminous intensity and superior luminous efficacy. Optical designers and engineers often have to balance optimizing optical design with achieving high luminous efficacy. Lumileds solves this challenge with its innovative LUXEON HL4Z. Driven at maximum current, the non-dome packaged LED produces an extremely high luminous intensity of over 1400 lm from its 2.16 mm² emitting surface at 85°C. Under conditions of 70 CRI, 4000 K, 85°C, and 700 mA, the new LUXEON HL4Z achieves an impressive typical luminous efficacy of 189 lm/W.
